CipSoft Beyond Tibia: Meeting Students and Spreading Some Regensburg Nostalgia

From career fairs and branded city buses to dragons, mini figures and a pizza cutter that doubles as a bottle opener, CipSoft has found plenty of ways to make its presence known in Regensburg. We took a look at the company beyond the game that brought us all together.

CipSoft Meets the Next Generation

On October 22, CipSoft was among the companies meeting students at CONNECTA 2026, the career fair held at OTH Regensburg. The event gives students the opportunity to talk directly to potential employers, ask questions about available positions and get a better idea of what working for different companies might actually look like.

For anyone interested in working at the company behind Tibia, this was a chance to learn more about CipSoft beyond its familiar name in the gaming world.

CipSoft regularly takes part in career events and similar gatherings, giving students and other interested visitors an opportunity to get to know the company. After all, making games is one thing, but finding the people who will help develop and support them is another.

And while conversations about careers were certainly the main reason to stop by, there were also a few things worth taking home.

A Little Something for Tibia Fans

The CipSoft merchandise selection had a nice mix of practical goodies and items that were clearly made to catch the attention of fans.

Visitors could pick up pens, yellow highlighter markers, stickers featuring the Knight, the Dragon and the Explorer, as well as small Post-it-style notepads. There were also miniature cardboard figures, perfect for anyone who enjoys collecting little reminders of their favourite game.

But the item that deserves a special mention is the pizza cutter that also works as a bottle opener.

Because apparently, even pizza night can use a little CipSoft touch. Whether you’re cutting a slice after a long hunt or opening a drink to go with it, this is probably one of the more unusual pieces of company merchandise you’ll come across at a career fair.

The selection was a good reminder that company merchandise doesn’t have to stop at pens and business cards. A few familiar Tibia-inspired designs can make even an ordinary visit to a career stand a little more memorable.

You Don’t Have to Look Far to Find CipSoft in Regensburg

CipSoft’s presence in Regensburg isn’t limited to university campuses and career events. If you spend enough time in the city, you may also spot its branding on public buses.

The company has a long-standing connection to the city, and it has used local public transport to promote its name as well as its work. Back in August 2015, CipSoft officially presented a collaboration with Regensburg’s public transport operator: a bus decorated with a fire-breathing dragon, with flames incorporating the company’s corporate design.

Regensburg is well known for its student population, so this kind of visibility makes sense. A career fair reaches people who are actively looking for opportunities, while a branded bus can introduce the company to everyone else going about their daily business.

And unlike an online advertisement, a bus featuring a giant dragon is not exactly the easiest thing to scroll past.

A Throwback to Pustet-Passage

Speaking of advertising, the older photo in this article takes us back around 14 years, to CipSoft’s promotion at Pustet-Passage in Regensburg.

Looking at it now, the first thing that stands out is the old CipSoft logo. There is something special about seeing a familiar company identity from years ago, especially when it belongs to a game that has been part of so many people’s lives for so long.

Logos change, marketing evolves and companies grow, but old photos have a way of bringing back a particular moment in time. For longtime Tibia players, a glimpse of CipSoft’s older branding may be just as interesting as the newer merchandise.

It’s also a small reminder that the company has been part of Regensburg’s local landscape for a long time, well beyond the screens where we usually encounter its work.

More Than Just the Game

For most Tibia players, CipSoft is first and foremost the company responsible for the game we log into, explore, complain about and somehow keep coming back to. But events like CONNECTA offer a glimpse of another side of the company: its role as a local employer and an active participant in Regensburg’s professional community.

From talking to students about career opportunities to putting its branding on buses and handing out Tibia-inspired goodies, CipSoft has several ways of connecting with people outside the game itself.

And for those of us who have followed Tibia for years, there’s an added bonus: seeing familiar characters and designs show up in everyday life, right here in the city where the company is based.

One final note: All photos featured in this article come from my personal archive and were taken by me. No stock images, no borrowed photos, just my own snapshots of CipSoft and its presence in Regensburg over the years. I hope you liked it, yours, Bijou Kidi.
