Love in the Time of Cooldowns – What Happened to Tibra?

If you’ve played Tibia long enough, there’s a good chance the thought crossed your mind at least once: “What if we got married?” Not in real life – relax. In Tibia. And if a wedding, then only with her. Tibra. The NPC who for years was the digital patron saint of virtual relationships, guardian of vows, and the silent witness of hundreds of love stories that started with “hey, wanna hunt together?”

And suddenly… silence. Tibra stopped performing weddings.

Just like that. No announcement, no farewell ceremony, no dramatic “Last Wedding” quest. Simply – the end. As if someone blew out the candles on the community’s anniversary cake.

And that’s where the speculation begins.

Theory #1: Tibra stopped believing in the institution of marriage

Imagine her all these years. Standing in the temple day and night. Couples approaching one after another. Some deeply in love, others… less so.

Elder Nico Knight, are you sure of your love to Royal Kevin Paladin and wish to bind your souls together for eternity?”
“Yes.”
“Yes.”

And three days later?
“Selling wedding ring, fast!!!”
“Divorce RP pls.”

Over and over again.

How many times can you watch the same story? How many times can you hear a promise of “forever” that lasts shorter than a premium account? Even an NPC has limits. Maybe one day Tibra looked at another perfectly color-matched couple and thought:
“No. I can’t do this anymore.”

Maybe that’s when she put the wedding book back in the drawer and said: “Love? Try one month of shared exp first.”

Theory #2: Someone broke her heart

What if the story is more personal?

Maybe Tibra once loved too. Maybe somewhere in Tibia there was someone who promised her eternity. Someone who said, “I’ll be back after my teamhunt on Azzilon.”
And never came back.

Maybe they ran away with a sorceress from another world. Maybe they transferred to another server. Maybe they sold their character on bazar.

Picture the scene: Tibra stands at the altar, holding a ring… and suddenly the message appears:
“Character has been deleted.”

From that moment on – no weddings. No vows. No “till death do us part.” Because in Tibia, death is just an inconvenience. Sorry for that!

Theory #3: Drunk weddings and “achievements”

Or maybe the truth is much simpler… and far more painful for the community.

Let’s be honest: how many players got married for romance, and how many for the achievement?

Typical scene:
2:13 AM.
Two players barely managing to click on the NPC.

“Tibra… marry us… we need achi…”
“Where is ring?”
“Wait I dropped beer on keyboard.”

And Tibra stands there, listening to slurred heroes confusing vows with chat commands. Someone tries to say “forever” and ends up with “forerver.” Someone asks if marriage gives an exp bonus.

Eventually, even the most patient NPC reaches her limit.

The plot twist no one expected

Because here’s the most intriguing part: Tibra is still happy to help. Just… not with matters of the heart anymore.

Instead, she’ll gladly help you create a blessed wooden stake.
Yes. Weddings? Maybe not. But symbolically “closing certain chapters” with a wooden stake? Absolutely.

Coincidence? Metaphor? Therapy?
We’re not here to judge.

Still at the altar just not performing weddings

The funny part? Tibra never disappeared. She’s still standing right where she always has been. The only thing that vanished is the wedding option itself.

No ceremonies. No vows. No rings exchanged.

Just Tibra, quietly minding her business… and occasionally helping adventurers prepare a very specific wooden solution for complicated relationships.
