The Fastest Way to Become a Ratinator
10,000 cave rats sounds like a month of walking. The cave by the Ankrahmun ship has a steady spawn, rifts on both floors and a tavern a few steps away.

The game describes the Ratinator title like this: “Killing some snarky cave rats is helpful, killing over ten thousand of them is a statement.” The requirement is exactly what it sounds like. 10,000 cave rats. No boss, no quest, no shortcut.
The rats are not the problem. The walking is. Most cave rat spawns are a handful of rats scattered around a dungeon you came to for something else. You kill five, then run for two minutes to find the next five.
There is a better place.
The Cave by the Ankrahmun Ship
Right next to the harbour in Ankrahmun, between the ship and the tavern, a cave goes down two floors. 24 cave rats live there, close enough together that you spend your time fighting instead of searching.

Rifts on Both Floors
This is what makes the spot worth it. Since the Summer Update 2026, Echo Raids open rifts in regular spawns, and in this cave they appear on both floors. A rift brings a fresh group of rats, which means more progress for the same walk.

Sometimes the group is influenced, and those rats drop Dust for the Exaltation Forge. And now and then the rift brings an Echo Warden, a tougher rat with a guaranteed reward on top.

The Tavern Is Your Base
The best part of this spot is what is above it. The Ankrahmun tavern is a protection zone a few steps from the cave entrance. Need to refill potions, answer a message or stop for the night? You are safe in seconds, and the ship is right there when you want to leave.

How Ray Mok Did It
Ray Mok never planned a Ratinator grind. He simply made a habit of it: every time a trip brought him to Ankrahmun, he dropped into the rat cave for a few minutes before moving on. Clear the spawn, check both floors for a rift, take whatever it brings, back to the ship.
Some days he stayed longer and waited in the tavern for the next rift to open, so there was a bit of grinding after all. Still, mostly short visits. A few weeks of them, and the title popped up.
That is the real trick with Ratinator. It is not a hunt, it is a routine. Treat the cave as a stop on your way somewhere else, keep an eye out for rifts while you are there, and the counter moves on its own.
Quick Tips
- Your Bestiary keeps counting cave rat kills, so you always know how far you are from 10,000.
- Do not skip the influenced rats. The Dust adds up over 10,000 kills.
- If a Warden shows up, take it down first. It makes the rats around it stronger.
- Everything above is about a regular week. On a Rapid Respawn weekend the cave refills much faster, so save your longer visits for then.
10,000 cave rats is still a lot of cheese. Here, at least, you spend the time fighting.
